Rock Chip Repair
South Dakota is known for its rock chips in windshields, and I’m sure just about all of us have had one. When you do get one, you want to get it fixed as soon as possible. - Is it bigger than a quarter? Most chips bigger than a quarter will not fill properly or completely and will still be noticeable after the repair process.
- Where is the chip located? Is it near the edge? Does it impair the drivers view? If it is near the edge of the windshield, not only does it reduce the structural integrity of the vehicle, but there is also a greater chance of the repair failing. Every little bump in the road puts flex on the edge of the windshield, which in turn puts pressure on the repair. If the rock chip is in the drivers view, replacement is typically recommended. A rock chip repair in the drivers view can be very distracting, and the last thing we want to do is hinder your safety.
